Stop Explaining. Start Translating: The Real Work of Leadership

Leadership is not about having all the answers.

It's about making things clear so people know what to do, why it matters, and how to proceed.

Ask:

  • Where might my team feel disconnected from this idea?

  • What sounds real—and what sounds like leadership-speak?

  • How can I ground this in something they have already seen, felt, or done?

When your message is relevant, it lands

When it is grounded, it sticks.

When it connects, it echoes.

To increase engagement, shift from delivering information to creating meaning.

Try:

  • Trade buzzwords for behavior. Instead of "we need more collaboration," say "let us start looping each other in earlier.”

  • Use real examples tied to what's happening right now, not some future ideal.

  • Name what people are already feeling or facing.

Instead of saying, "We need to be more agile,"

Say: "You've probably felt a project shift or stall, because no one knows or understands who's making the next call. That's the gap we're solving."


That's not just a message. It's connection. It's leadership.
